Update after a long absence

•October 12, 2009 • Leave a Comment

First off, I just decided to remove my “Bad review” entry. I may eventually re-review it, but I don’t have time for it right now and I also do not have the time to keep moderating these repetitive comments =P. Sometime, when I have more time at my disposal, maybe I’ll get to watch it again and give the review another go… but for now, deleting the entry will save me more time and will save you the energy it takes to disagree with me. Win win situation, huh?

Anyway, once I get more time away from my graphics projects [T-T my soul, it's being sucked out of my body... so many projects.... eeeep!], I should be able to post a review for the final volume of Furuba and perhaps post an entire entry for Fruits Basket, as an overview of the series in both manga and anime form. Also, once that elusive free time returns to me, I should be able to post a review on Code Geass season 1, La Corda Secondo Passo, and whatever other anime/manga I’ve read/watched since then.

Until later!

Unusual Post: OCRemix

•July 20, 2009 • Leave a Comment

I normally don’t make posts about unrelated topics, but as it is I think this site is related. The guys @ ocremix are trying to get the word out about a new final fantasy album they’ve finished.

The link is: http://ff4.ocremix.org

they also have an album for ToS. I’ll try to edit this post later and put a link up for that as well.

If you feel like browsing the main site, just go to http://www.ocremix.org

That’s it for now [short, I know, but I have an appointment to make].

Upcoming: Re-reviews and revamps!

•July 4, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Hello everyone ^-^!

I know it’s been a while, but I’ve been busy at the home office, so most of the work that needs to be done to this blog has had to wait. Hopefully, though, I’ll be able to revamp most of the scruffy reviews in this blog before the summer’s over and still have time to write a review for Furuba 23 when I get it.

You may wonder what the heck I meant when I mentioned “scruffy reviews”. These are reviews that I [most likely] wrote really fast and have an abhorrent amount of grammatical errors in them [shame on mee ._.] or need to be softened up a bit. By “softened” I don’t mean I’ve changed my moral views or anything, because those won’t change; it just means that I gave an anime or two a really hard review without re-reading/editing it [I try to re-read & edit most of the reviews these days] because I got really “fired up” about something unrelated at the time. Certain reviews may stay the way they are [I'm still keeping my opinion of the School Days anime, for isntance], but others will be edited or revamped [a new review written for it] and I’ll keep you updated as to which ones have been worked with.

And yes; just in case any of you were wondering, I will be working with the review of Saint Beast KJTT [that one will most likely be the first one on my list to revamp, since a few things were pointed out to me recently].

As I usually say, if any of you have any animes you’d like me to try to review, do not hesitate to email me or send a comment my way and I’ll try to check it out as soon as I’m able. Also, if you think I’ve taken to hard of a take on a particular review, or have something to add to one, please email or send in a comment about that as well; I may come across as strict with my views, but I’m not unwilling to try to see things from your perspective.

Semi-Update: Part II Reviews; “Tales of” and etcetera

•May 27, 2009 • Leave a Comment

My goals for [the blog] this summer:

Since I have by now finished both the manga, as far as the anime OVA has gone [grr to them having not finished the other half yet T-T], and the videogame [several times by now ^_^;;], I’m going to try to write an extended review for Tales of Symphonia, including the Tethe’Alla side and corresponding characters, and whatnot. Ill also write short reviews for a select few other “Tales of” games/storylines [as far as I have knowledge of them] and will try to update some of the other reviews.

Also. writing a full review for Fruits Basket once I’ve read the final volume, and updating a few other things.

Until then! [I'm being yanked away from the computer for important matters *sigh* -_-;;]

Short, Sweet, and to the Point [not really; you should know that by now]: Furuba Update!

•May 25, 2009 • Leave a Comment

I know it’s not even June yet [I just happen to have the time to make this post right now so I'm going to do so before I forget >.>;], but get ready for July, Furuba fans.

It’s been a long few years for Fruits Basket, following the story of Tohru Honda through the hardship of losing her mother, the comical occurrences she has with the Sohmas, and through the support {*cough*counselling sessions*cough* XD] she gives to the Zodiac members throughout the manga. We’ve watched as loves have developed, violence has been unleashed, and background stories/flashbacks have been dished out one after another. We’ve laughed, maybe cried [depending on how the story affects you], gotten pissed off, and smiled at the antics of the Sohmas, Tohru, and her classmates/friends as each volume unfolded into another. And now we prepare for the last volume of Natsuki Takaya’s [currently and to the best of my knowledge] longest running manga to unfold.

What will happen in the final volume of Fruits Basket? Nothing short of happy endings for everyone involved, I’m sure [I'm guessing this after reading volume 22 *rolls eyes* serious mush-fest there @_@], but as for specifics, only Takaya, the citizens of Japan (lucky people who can read Jap T^T. you’ve had the alst volume for a while now *sulks*], [and those who read the online manga scans a while back, shame on you!] know.

Furuba volume 23 folks. Look for it to hit amazon.com, b&n.com, Robert’s Anime Corner Store [and other anime related stores probably]/Barnes and Noble, and various other bookstore shelves…

in July.

So in July as you [if you're reading this in the US of A] put the American flags on your decks, fire up your grills, and prepare to watch the fireworks on the 4th; soak up the sun/garden outside; and hit the beaches of the East or West coast [or both if you're feeling adventurous or w/e],don’t forget that the final volume of Furuba is lurking in storehouses somewhere, until about 2 days after you fiesta on Independence Day.

Update: Ides of March!

After a long absence, I hope to be able to posts a few updates soon, but seeing as how I am entirely drained of energy and have to go to bed so I can get up in a few hours [oh the joys T^T], I think I’ll leave that to another day.

Hopefully, though, I’ll be able to do reviews/updates/adds on these anime/mangas:

-S.A

-Skip Beat [anime/manga]

-TotA/ToV [manga/anime?]

-Natsume Yujincho [anime]

-Shugo Chara [anime/perhaps manga]

-Honey Hunt [manga]

-Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro [manga]

-Ouran High School Host Club

-Saiunkoku [anime]

-Furuba: vol. 22 [yay!!!]

and other upcoming mangas, including new releases from Natsuki Takaya, a second season of La Corda d’Oro, and a bit more!
But for now…. time for sleep ^.^;;

Goodnight, and thank you for reading, as always!

I don’t have much time but I figured I’d give a quick update since I haven’t been able to do so in a long time.

ok, so, 2 animes I’m currently checking out are Skip Beat and Natsume Yuincho. They’re pretty good so far, so check them out.

‘kay, time’s up, so goodnight.

Furuba vol 21: Short Review

•December 14, 2008 • Leave a Comment

As per usual these days, I don’t have much time to post… but since I said that I would post a review of fruits basket vol. 21 whenever I had the chance to buy and read it… I’ll honor my word.

In this volume, [I'll try to not spoil anything], certain words are finally spoken between Kyo and Tohru… but this series is anything but over, and most of vol 21 was spent in the hospital. With one or two of our Furuba characters out of commission for a majority of the book, the rest of the regulars[pretty much the usual suspects] get to have some verbal fights and deal with whatever lingering problems they may be having [these problems will probably all come to their conclusions at the end of volume 23... which is the ending volume of Fruits Basket so far as I have heard] before the end.

And yes, in this volume Kyo and Yuki finally duke it out both verbally and physically… and that scene you probably never wanted to have occur… happened.

If you’ve seen at least the first five or so episodes of the Fruits Basket anime [or have read volume 1 of the manga] you will probably remember a scene Tohru made up in her head about if Kyo and Yuki admitted their faults to each other, admitted they each wanted to be like the other, and became friends? Well, although it is muted and they aren’t exactly the “best of friends”, that scene… really does happen. Of course, it is a little more masculine than Tohru’s imagined version [no dazzling sunsets, no teary glimmery eyes, no clasped hands].. but even so, saying such things – even after duking it out – isn’t very… natural… for guys. Takaya kind of shocked me with that one >.>

The rest of the volume I will leave alone, so you can either read it yourself or look up your own spoilers for it =P

Overall, although it was an enticing read [especially after volume 20] it was a little strange if not a slightly dry read. I give it a 7.8

For other news, I’ve been thinking of putting up a link to my freewebs site on this blog, so that if any of you have any questions, comments, or spoiler requests, you can go there and get your answers outside of my short review/random updates blog [this place]. However it will take a while to set up to be of any use to anyone[and I haven't been there in so long I probably don't remember the password XD] … but I will probably try a day this week or next.

Until then!

December Update: December Reads

•December 5, 2008 • Leave a Comment

So, somehow between a research paper and a graphics project I found time to read a few chapters of 2 mangas. So far they seem pretty good so I’ll suggest them to you as mangas to keep track of:

-Tales of Vesperia [haha yeah I know, another "tales of" manga... I guess I'm an addict.]

-Toraware no Minoue

As for other updates, S.A has been getting rather interesting as of late [... I wonder where the manga-ka is headed with this specific plot turn?], and Maijin Tantei Nougami Neuro seems to be heating up for a final smackdown.. somewhere in the near future I hope [as cool as the manga is, it's kinda dragging on longer than I thought it really would >_>].

I have yet to get Furuba vol. 21 so I can’t update you on that yet *noooo! T_T* but I’ll post the info for that as soon as I get it and read thru it. Please have patience with me!

I have a lot of updates and reviews to post as usual… hopefully I can draft up a bunch over x-mas break and pos a bunch of separate entries for them when I return **hopefully** [I still have to post things on my art page too >.>;; I'm getting so behind in upkeeping this blog -_-;; ]

Well, more work must be done so I’ll have to leave you with that. However, I owe you all so many reviews and updates… I think it’s only fair that I leave you a video/amv or two right? Here they are! I hope you enjoy them.

[inuyasha. song: "young" by hollywood undead]

don’t watch this lst video unless you want to see a major code geass spoiler. I’m only posting it because it’s a really good amv.

Quick Winter Update

•November 18, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Sorry it’s been so long since I’ve given you guys an update >.>;; I’ve just been buried under college work and art commissions until now, so I haven’t really had a free moment -_-.

well, for good news:

1.  I’ve read most of the way through ToD and it’s pretty amazing. ToA is good too [I should check for updates >.>]

2. I’ve read most of the way through S.A … you shuld definitely read this one if you like Ouran.

3. I started reading Honey Hunt yesterday *yay for random free time!*. It’s really not bad so far, I’m just going to read through it a bit more before I clear it for you.

4. [DVDs] By now, Ghost Hunt vol. 1 and Saiunkoku vol. 3 are out… good Christmas gifts ya know ;D

5. Fruits Basket vol. 21 is out. And I have yet to order it T-T. *sigh* college kids.. why must most of us be so budget oriented? x.x

6. there’s a new chapter of Ouran up on onemanga.com. It was a pretty good read.

Well, that’s it for now. I haven’t really had a chance to keep track of anything else…

oh.. except one more thing. I’ve started with the first 2 episodes [then I ran out of time of course >.<] of Code Geass. I’ll let you know how that goes.

well, I hope that appeased you at least a little. I’ll try to write a better update soon, as well as put in some reviews [why? cause thanksgiving break is coming up soon for me so I just might have some glorious free time ^_^].

until then!
